Post Secondary education is LIFE LONG education and should be treated as such. Not all students are expected to graduate in Four years as many students bring to post secondary education an enormous amount of living and occupational experience as well. Consider please, I started my education 4 months post brain kim kardashian plastic surgery to have a portion of my brain removed in epilepsy surgery for having over 50+ seizures daily. I still was seizuring after this surgery, although the amount was greatly reduced, yet now am fully brain disabled with other resultant affects of the brain surgery itself, yet I no longer face sure death by one long non-stop seizure. I graduated in May 2010, 8 years after surgery and first attending school, but I graduated with a BA in sociology, a BA in psychology, and a Minor in Anthropology w/cumulative 3.43 GPA without a full brain, and begin my Masters in Jan 2011. All happened at a research institution no less, no it was not easy and I do not like easy. I worked 25 years in healthcare prior to not being able to work at all before surgery due to the many seizures. I will finally with the assistance of computer technologies and the signage of the ADA, be able to return to the work force, fully brain disabled, plus be able to apply my degrees and occupational history to my future employment, while teaching young adults on campus the importance of continuing productivity despite mid-life disabilities, and the importance of being vigilant and on guard against stigma related to people with disabilities, allowing for full inclusion in education and the work force! There is not a price on this!
